Chef Karl Isaiah Henneghan  was born June 17th 1986. He was raised in North Philadelphia. Chef Karl Isaiah graduated from Simon Gratz High School class of 2005. At a very young age he always had a passion for art, colors and food. It was then that he knew he was set apart from others. While most kids his age were playing video games and chasing girls he was busy chasing a dream. A dream of becoming legendary. He has always had great support from his family, friends, and community. His grandmother Geneva Clark is the one that inspired him to get into the baking business. She also worked for TastyKake Bakery for over 35 years. As a child his grandmother would  always have a plethora of homemade cakes for the family, which was a Henneghan tradition. . The  aroma of the cakes was so strong that it tingled your taste buds. At the age of 21 was when he realized that he wanted to take on a new challenge what was baking cheesecakes. Trough trial and error he came up with a variety of taste, texture, and quality in his cakes. Ten months later he had created over 80 original flavors such as dutch danish apple cobbler, strawberry sensation, King Loui (in remembrance of his father), New york candy apple. He sold his very first cheesecake to a former co-worker. With outstanding feed back from his co-worker he decided to take things to the next level. After selling his first cheesecake he knew that this was just the beginning of something great. Shortly after That he took a trip to Brooklyn New York to a place called Juniors Cheesecakes It was there that he experienced his very first New York style cheesecake. Remembering distinguished taste he made sure that his cakes would be that memorable.

To conquer something means to overcome by force and to take charge over your situation. His "struggle" is what motivated him to want more out of life. Failure was not an option. At the age of 16 he lost his grandmother Valetta Johnson to terminal cancer, a month later his father Karl Anthon was brutally murdered on his front porch, five moths later his uncle died from a massive heart attack. It was at this point in his life that he had come to a breaking point, wanting to give, not knowing how he would get through life with these tragedies taking place in his life. He didn't allow his reality affect his dream. He knew that he had to go forward in life despite losing his loved ones. Though it still hurts he continues to grind even harder. His goal in life is to see others happy. He expresses his love and passion through each one of his cakes. Karl is truly someone that is slow to take an quick to give. Giving back is what it's all about. Cake often times symbolizes celebration whether it's at a wedding, birthday, recognition, graduation, ceremony, anniversary, job promotion, or simply celebrating life. To sum it all up that's what his cake is based on a CELEBRATION OF LIFE!
